this project attempts to visualize and spatialize patterns of growth and development throughout mississauga's history.

from the 19th to the 21st century, from rural landscapes and nodal villages to the sixth largest city in canada, mississauga's geography of place is full of complexity.

the following images present:

(1) mississauga in its regional context;

(2) a chronological mapping of mississauga's right-of-ways, 1806-2010;

(3) pieces of the contemporary city isolated and abstracted by period.
